Credit Control and Recovery Specialist

This is a nationwide offering, centrally located in Kilkenny, with an extensive partner / dealership network through multiple industries and locations. The focus has been, and will remain being through this period of investment and expansion, on making the process as seamless as possible for both the customer and the vendor.

Offering a range of products to suit dealer-vendors in industries from forestry to farming to hospitality, businesses partnering with SME Leasing can offer a stress-free HP/leasing solution to their customers, increasing sales and driving revenue. To ensure clients are always receiving the best possible service, are fully supported and engaged with in a meaningful way, updated regularly and client accounts are managed, nurtured and assisted in every possible way; the company are looking to welcome a detail-orientated and tenacious credit controller to their head office in  Co. Kilkenny.

This is an office-based role dealing with various departments including underwriting, account management and client services to reduce the instances of defaults, and recovering payments. This person will leverage their second-to-none communication skills to work with customers, vendors and external partners to begin, administrate and bring resolution to the arrears and recovery process. You’ll use channels including phone, email and letter to find the best way to contact the customer and open the lines of communication, and will be committed to keeping the company  systems updated to ensure the process has been recorded effectively in the event of an audit.

The day-to-day

  • This is an office-based role, heavily focused on professional and warm, but direct phone and email communication to consumers. Your attention to detail will mean you’ll identify and begin to work with accounts moving into arrears, early enough that  a resolution can be reached. You’ll take control of managing accounts that are in arrears, being resolved, and defaulting, and record everything on the company CRM system.
  • Contacting the consumer by email, telephone and letter to ascertain the reasons and gain an understanding of the situation, then work with management to put together a recovery plan where appropriate
  • Assist with the completion and administration of recoveries
  • Refer to, and work closely with, the underwriting and proposal departments to aid decision-making
  • Work with internal and external company representatives to help reduce instances of default and adhere to all regulations as regard  persuing and recovering  loan amounts
  • Join in with the wider team to build out new and improved processes around the management of instances of arrears

 

 

 

The person…

  • You’ll be an approachable but firm and detail-focused, and be able to proactively identify accounts moving in to arrears, or likely to move into arrears, to be able to deal with the situation as soon as possibly
  • You’ll display tenacity and be able to think outside the box to identify ways of contacting the customer in order to open up a conversation with a view to resolution.
  • You’ll understand the importance of administration and keeping the CRM system up-to-date as regards accounts in arrears  - if an audit is conducted, it’s imperative that all attempts to contact the customer, and any conversations have been recorded properly
  • You’ll have an adaptable communication style, and be able to recognise when to use the more consultative, and when to use a firmer approach
  • You’ll be flexible, and open to going off-site to meet customers when needed, and happy to support other department with their workload as needed
