Employee Relations Manager

This role has been created due to an ongoing expansion plan by one of the country’s best- known brands.  You will have plenty of opportunity to grow, train and take advantage of promotion opportunities.  The role reports into a well-respected HR leader who is regarded as a thought leader and HR ambassador.   This role is responsible for providing expert judgement and advice to line managers and employees regarding employee relations matters.  You will upskill line managers through a considered coaching and support framework ensuring issues are addressed and the company remains compliant.

On successful hire your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Provide timely expert advice and guide best practice employee relation strategies for line managers on the application and interpretation of a wide spectrum of issues from people policies, including Disciplinary, Grievance, Diversity, Bullying and Harassment.
  • Respond effectively and consistently to employee relations queries within specified SLA’s
  • Effective management of high-risk cases engaging key stakeholders as required.
  • Build capability of managers through coaching, case workshop and online toolkits and supports for employee relations issues, including the development and implementation of Performance Improvement Plans 
  • Ensure that the company is legally protected in all employee relations matters, while considering the employee experience and balancing appropriate risk.
  • Analyse employee relations data, identity trends and recommend solutions.
  • Own and drive individual projects and activities focused on building line manager capability and process and continuous improvement.
  • Design of employee relations products and services such as policy, procedures and guidelines.
  • Responsible for the set up and execution of best practice Employee Relations strategies, programmes and initiatives.

To be considered for interview, your skills and experience will include:

  • 8+ years of HR experience in a true Employee Relations / HR Business Partner role.
  • A background in Consulting / Services specializing in Employee Relations is a distinct advantage
  • Experience working as part of a transformation team that repositioned the HR offering.
  • A proven background in leading Manager Capability. 
  • Must have demonstrated effective multitasking and project management skills
  • Must have strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills and be able to build relationships at all levels of the organization. You will be partnering with a complex set of stakeholders to drive organizational change
  • Candidate would need to bring a can do, entrepreneurial attitude and a focus on impact
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and business acumen
  • Keen to continue learning and developing their skillset, having a growth mindset
  • BA/BSc preferably in HR
