Enterprise Architect (Global Remit)

Want to work for a truly Global multinational in Dublin working with all kinds of companies from NATO to NHS? This is a great company and super culture, culturally diverse and really interesting work. Reporting to a Head of Architecture,  you will be joining a team of 5 EAs in Europe and working on marrying technology to global business objectives and initiatives to ensure a robust and scalable architecture is in place for the business of tomorrow. You will work cross functionally on Enterprise Architecture for the development of new products, new lines of business and work with innovations teams to introduce new technologies into the global business to help meet objectives. The Enterprise Architecture team works to drive cross-country and cross-line of business producing architectural blueprints with the aim to drive present and future business strategy and hand over to mainstream development teams and technical architects to carry these blue prints forward. As an EA you will be in charge of defining, documenting, communicating and getting feedback on these solution blueprints, focused on the application / functional business lenses with a view toward software / cloud / infrastructure / tools / methodology constraints. You will be aware of how changes will impact the business. While reviewing the business project portfolio, you will be collaborating with the Business teams and Technology Delivery organisation (innovations and mainstream tech teams) on current status, future needs and anticipate potential IT gaps,  bringing in proposals for new solution blueprints and complete early solution outline reviews and solution architecture reviews to present to the regular Enterprise Architecture Board meetings. You will be working to define architecture patterns enabling fast delivery of domain-driven, micro-services oriented solutions and ensure the definition of solution architectures which can support the transition from innovative pilot to productive systems. This is a great chance to work in a global business in a true enterprise architecture group – a business that embraces technology and is committed toward working on innovations spread across Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, block chain, IOT and more.

Sounds good, how do I get in front of them?

You will have a degree  / masters in Technology / engineering and more than 10+ years commercial experience, having come up the ranks in software engineering and architecture, you will have more than 3 years’ experience as a solutions architect t or EA within a large multinational / international business (experience in financial services a plus but not an absolute requirement). What is a requirement is that you will have had a plethora of different experience through your career in different lines of business where you have had to learn new business operations quickly (this could be through different roles or consulting experience). You will have solid experience with functional design defining architectural blueprints for enterprise business and ideally, have contributed to a central Enterprise Architectural group in your past experience. This organisation has their own architectural standards and methodological practices (similar to TOGAF).   You will have proven communication skills required to perform in the role. From a technical point of view, you will have varied experience working on solutions using Cloud Services, AWS, API’s, Business Intelligence and analytics, Rules Engines, Machine Learning,  Integration patterns, Telephony / CTI, Microservices, AGILE / SCRUM etc. As this is a global organisation you will be expected to travel 4-5 days a month to EU – short hop.
