Field Sales Consultant   - Construction Industry (South East region)

This company are Ireland’s  top provider of fixings direct to the construction industry, and offer best-in-class customer service and advice on top of the best quality products from global brands. Serving customers in Ireland and UK, they are a proud indigenous company, and due to increased demand in the market, they are looking to add to their Irish sales team with a self-motivated, customer-focused field sales consultant for the South-East region, who will take care of existing clients and drive new business. The ideal person will be coming from a construction or engineering background and is looking to build a long career with a heritage Irish company, where there is trust, opportunity and autonomy. 


Looks good so far, but what would my day-to-day look like?

Setting up appointments to meet existing clients, often onsite, to investigate where they are as regards the project timeline etc, and whether they need to order product
Offer onsite support around the products, with training, education and information
Investigate opportunities for new business by researching trade publications, planning applications, referrals and other channels, and reaching out to decision-makers to make appointments 
Record all information from client visits to enable better-informed approaches in the future 
Be aware of and work toward KPI’s including revenue, spread of products sold against brands and client contacts
Communicate performance against KPI’s to the management team regularly


Great, now what should my profile look like in order to be considered?

2-3 years minimum in a consultative selling environment, ideally relating to the construction or engineering industries 
Maturity as regard taking full ownership for your territory and working on your own initiative (with lots of support from the business)
Ability to build rapport with clients of all types, from architects to site managers, contractors and sub-contractors
Logical outlook and approach as regards managing your own time and appointments 
Long-term vision; looking to develop their career within the company with lots of support and continuous professional development


Anything else to know?

This role offers a starting salary of up to €35K plus regular performance-based bonuses (with accelerators) and a company car, phone and laptop.
