Group Accountant  - Multinational Engineering Group

 This organisation comprises a group of well-regarded companies in the engineering and construction space, with a solid backing from some well-known Irish and international conglomerates. Due to some movement within the company, and succession plan beginning to be put in place, they are looking to welcome a Group Accountant to their team to take responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the finance department, with opportunities for future progression into financial controller, and beyond.


Looks good so far, but what would my day-to-day look like?

Overseeing and preparing monthly accounts for the various companies within the group, along with variance analysis
Maintain the General Ledger and all other accounting records
Manage cash flows and preparation of accounting statements
Control spending on capital expenditure and tracking against budget
Salary processing and management and control of overheads and indirect costs
Consistely work to develop opportunities for efficiency and internal controls, along with process improvements for the team
Prioritise the development of positive, co-operative relationship with the team, stakeholders and various companies within the Group


Great, now what should my profile look like in order to be considered?

You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA) with at least 3 years’ post-qualified experience in industry
You’ll be able to demonstrate previous experience in the preparation of consolidated accounts in a multicurrency environment (the group spans USD, Euro and STG)
You’ll have well-developed communication and analytical skills
You’ll always be looking for ways to do things better, faster and more easily, and will be able to contribute to company strategy in a proactive way
You’ll display exceptional integrity and professionalism
You’ll be very confident in your own abilities and be able to take ownership for accounts preparation from start to finish
You want to develop your career and are always looking to improve and take on new responsibilities

This role is based in Co.Kildare, within easy commute of Meath and West Dublin, and will pay up to €65K + package. It's a fantastic opporutnity to join this well-regarded group of enterprises in role tnhat has the potential to develop quickly into Financial Controller within the next 3-5 years.
