Head of Business Development – Agency – 12-month contract (with view to extension)

What’s the opportunity?

A creative, innovative, fun-focused and flexible agency needs a commercially minded, creative thinker to grow accounts, lead a team and report on it!

Take the reins and capitalise on this start-up business’ position. Over two years, it’s grown from strength to strength, new client to new client, deepening and expanding contracts. Small but powerful in Ireland; part of a global group with international clients and offices worldwide, the structure is flat; non-bureaucratic. The company recognises people who bring ideas and personality and live its brand values.

What’s the work? Day-to-day; over time?!

  • Head of the new business strategy and execution; very much expected to develop strong relationships with new and existing clients and partners as well as your internal stakeholders here and in UK.
  • Senior management in London will host you monthly to report the Irish position. You are targeted with new business development.
  • Responsible for a team of four who are relatively self-managing, you are yet expected to guide them, carry out regular one-to-ones, periodic reviews and provide mentorship and direction.
  • Employ precision skill in research and pitching, creative thinking and idea generation to land new and grow existing accounts. Back this with excellent admin through the CRM and CMS.

This sounds really exciting. What’s expected in the profile of your new hire?

Primarily, your inclination to and successes in new business development are what's required, as well as relationships and team building. On a base of great local industry knowhow and connections. You must be agency-experienced in Dublin, with an events background ideally. At least 6/7 years in client-facing, sales roles with a network of clients, suppliers and venues in Dublin and internationally.
