Head of Product (Environmental)

Would you like to come into a well-established start-up with a good product set and current customers who have recently got funding and are set to expand? This technology company is operating in the environmental sector and is developing a platform that utilizes field deployable sensor technologies & contextual data sources, to build machine learning models to simplify, automate & improve the delivery of environmental risk assessment for organisations working on Brown Field Sites for development. These customers are largely Environmental consultancies retained by large property developers.

The business model is geared around developing a domain specific business intelligence software platform enabling real-time visualisation of data from remotely deployed sensors alongside contextual data sources such as maps, geotechnical, meteorological & satellite data. Over time, the platform will evolve to include data analytics models and algorithms which build upon the available data to help our customers automate the assessment of environmental risk. Data science & analytics is at the heart of the strategy of the business and this role will develop a deparate P&L for the business in “Data As A Service”. The role interfaces with customers to uncover needs and then build tools, models and processes to uncover the value hidden in environmental data and enabling them to improve the delivery of environmental risk assessment. It also sits at the interface with a software development group, productising machine learning algorithms and models, building out a product to automate this activity.
