a 2nd Innovations designer /architect (R&D & Enterprise) for this client (I filled the first one in November last year) and the team is expanding

Want to work for a truly Global multinational HQ’d in Dublin working with all kinds of companies from NATO to NHS – in this role you will be part of a small niche team in solutions design for the business. This role requires

1.     A hands-on developer with a deep competence in at least one mainstream language and good experience with more software languages - new technologies come quickly to you

2.     Someone good at architecture

3.     A starter – not a finisher, someone who enjoys getting stuck into the design of a new solution in a creative way and handing it over

4.     Someone with broad technology stack experience – Java, .NET, Databases, NOSQL, NLP, AI, Machine Learning and more

5.     Passionate about new technologies and prototyping with scant documentation

6.     Someone quick to understand a broad range of business scenarios to quickly understand requirements to translate these into technical solutions

Yes, it’s a lot to ask, but it’s a great role. You will be working with a very senior technology leader reporting to the global CIO of this huge company, taking business requirements from stakeholders globally to do with their lines of business and work on POC’s in Rapid prototyping environment which drives innovation at the highest of levels. Working across IOT, AI, Blockchain, NLP, NOSql, Business application development, mobile and more, once a prototype is mocked up and approved, it goes into mainstream technology departments for production and you are onto the next thing. This Innovation team is top gear and develops new products, sometimes for new lines of business and introduces new technologies and digitalization into the global business of the client themselves and sometimes their end customers. Great variety. The team in Ireland is composed of solution designers and developers and the leader of the group who work closely with global product owners and business stakeholders to quickly transform new ideas into proof of concepts (POC), prototypes, and pilots.

Sounds Great – what’s my day to day like?

-Work with globally located stakeholders in the solution design and requirements capture for various projects

-Envision, advise and create the design of solutions (from both a business and technical point of view) which match the needs of the specified requirements/idea – get it ready in terms of architecture and a framework of code to hand over to mainstream development teams

-Identify technologies, architectures and products which can meet the needs of the solution being designed

-Create sample / mock customer journeys to flesh out the end-to-end deliverables.

-Translate solution designs into incremental, yet actionable, artifacts (user stores, documents etc.) which can then be used by technical teams to deliver solutions

-Ensure solution scopes are closely controlled and managed to ensure delivery can be attained incrementally and under tight timeframes and/or budget constraints

-Closely support (inc. hands work) the technical design, planning and development cycles of each of the innovation initiatives.

-Act as a coordinator / point of contact between the team and other stakeholders.

-During solution development & testing, triage, analyse, and prioritise the solution artifact backlog and any open defects.

-Regularly validate the end to end solution through frequent testing (on behalf of the end user) and through frequent demos to all stakeholders.

-Supports the launch, test and review of any Beta or early market releases.

Sound good? How do I get an interview?

You will bring exceptional communication skills and proven capability to align, influence and leverage globally distributed stakeholders. So a good blend of both business and IT solution design experience. You will ideally have worked with a myriad of technologies (java, .NET, python, Javascript, NLP, iOT, ML and BlockChain technologies) designing IT solutions which work across multiple delivery channels (e.g. Web, Mobile,) and Architecture experience.

You will want to work on delivering complex proof of concepts or prototypes in an incremental way, the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-location, multi-culture environment, regional-focused role as there will be travel around EMEA and sometimes further with this role
