NLP Data Scientist - South East
What’s the opportunity?
This organisation are leaders in trademark search and protection tools and are using the latest AI, machine learning and natural language processing technologies and processes to help with users establish intellectual property rights and ownership. With powerful engines on the backend, the company are concerned with keeping the user interface as simple and easy-to-use as possible. The facilitate further growth into 2018, this organisation are looking to welcome a hands-on NLP-focused software/data engineer to their team in the South East.
Looks good so far, but what would my day-to-day look like?
Taking responsibility for design and development of textual analysis components e.g. morpheme segmentation, statistical language models and semantic similarity
Working with internal teams to use AI technology to improve natural language recognition
Work with large data volumes to gather information
Continually work to improve development and analytics processes
Great, now what should my profile look like in order to be considered?
We’re not looking for a set number of years of experience, but we are looking for the right experience!
A technical M.Sc. or ideally Ph.D. relating to natural language processing, computational linguistics and machine learning
Solid understanding modern computational linguistics and NLP
Strong scripting experience, ideally in shell scripting (Bash, Perl etc), Python and SQL
Knowledge of Java, and ideally Scala development
Real hunger to learn, take on new responsibility and develop personally

This role is based in Ireland’s Sunny South East, and would suit candidates living in Waterford, Kilkenny or Carlow. It’s a permanent opportunity, with lots of chances for professional growth, and will pay a salary of up to €55K + a package.
