A major vendor in the SMSC market, a Dublin-based company requires a senior Java engineer to join their expanding highly-competent technical team. Use your drive and passion for development to excel in a deadline-driven agile software environment. The successful candidate will take initiative and responsibility in building, delivering, testing and deploying projects through to production with a willingness to learn to new technologies and adapt to new challenges.

What do I need to be considered for interview?

  • 5 years + prior relevant experience
  • Third level degree in related field/ equivalent Qualification
  • Experience of Programming in Java
  • Deep understanding of computer science foundations, algorithms and software architecture and design
  • Networking – TCP/IP routing
  • Knowledge of Linux

Anything else?

Advantageous but not essential extras are:

  • Knowledge of Perl, Python
  • Knowledge of Telecommunication standards

What will my daily activity look like?

  • Collaborating with stakeholders in establishing application requirements, determining features, support needs and performance requirements
  • Planning, designing, developing, testing and deploying software in order to satisfy these requirements
  • Development and implementation of distributed messaging products in Java/J2EE
  • Maintaining and sustaining existing code base
