Software Development Manager – (building groundbreaking software)

Would you like to become a part of one of Dublin’s leading engineering teams? Are you an experienced engineering manager keen to put their skills to use on groundbreaking software that will ultimately change the world we live in?

Yes! What’s the opportunity??

A booming South Dublin-based global provider of healthcare software are on the hunt for an experienced engineering manager to steer a large team towards really making a difference in the world. This is a technical role where you will be participating in both client calls and internal architecture discussions.  There is no playbook here – this is yours to put your stamp on it.

Sounds like my kind of company, but what does the day to day look like?

  • Full cycle management of a large engineering team using the Microsoft technology stack – hiring, 1-1’s, mentoring, HR and career development for your team
  • Working with your lead to ensure smooth day to day running of the team
  • Actively working with clients, and the business to ensure solutions are of the highest quality
  • Development, definition and implementation of tech strategy
  • Ensuring you team have all the support and resources needed to be the best they can be – working with other teams in the business to share strategy and tools to improve productivity across the organisation
  • The methodologies are in place, you will have an agile coach, product owner and scrum master at your disposal. It is up to you to get the most out of the team.

That’s exactly what I’m looking for, so what do they need from me?

You will be an experienced development manager with a track record of managing large teams with a mix of technology and people management expertise. This is a highly people focused role so you will display excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills whilst being an SME (or guru) if you will on technical subjects.
