Last night we were delighted to be invited to a charity table quiz organised by our friends at Contracting Plus!
The quiz was in aid of the Peter McVerry Trust. The Peter McVerry Trust is a charity set up by Fr Peter McVerry to reduce homelessness and the harm caused by drug misuse and social disadvantage. Fr Peter McVerry has been working with youths in Dublin’s north inner city in 1974.
The RECRUITERS team set our sights on a top 3 finish....swear we're not competitive!! Morale and hopes were at an ultimate high...at the start of the evening.
The Contracting Plus team did a beautiful job organising and decorating the entire veune. Our team scored high in the first opening rounds, however over time we began to slip further and further down the leader board. Relationships and patience were tested. It turns out Tipperary is surrounded by 8 counties...who knew!
Our IT consultant John Hannaway steadied the ship with some great knowledge about the capital of Turkey. Unfortunately, Patricia "GAA" Lynch, our Sales Recruitment Manager didn't have the sporting knowledge we had hoped for. Sarah Pope, our Contracting Manager, showed she was the team’s "dark horse" and displayed some great nuggets of wisdom.
Our old Marketing Manager, Ciaran, failed to live up to expectation on the music round which ultimately meant there was no way back for team RECRUITERS.
In the end, RECRUITERS finished 13th. Naturally, there will be a formal complaint logded against the Contracting Plus team as we feel 13th was not an accurate representation of our fountain of knowledge. We were delighted to get David Attenborough’s age right (92!!), however, we couldn’t quite name Steven Avery’s lawyers or Ringo Starr's real name (Richard Starkey)...shameful we know.
We did however win* two tubs of Ben and Jerry's so we all went home winners.
*they were actually given to us out of pity.

We will be more prepared next time. All participants who underperfomed on the night have been let go, as 13th is not the standard we uphold.
It was a great evening and the team were very happy to support such an important cause. Well done to all involved.
