Read more →Building sustainable livelihoods is one of our key priorities. We have been building talent communities and improving the livelihoods of thousands of people across Ireland since 2006. However, by supporting GOAL since 2020 we have been able to reach those global communities whose livelihoods have suffered deeply from the impacts of pandemics, wars, poverty and climate change.
At Recruiters.ie we provide people with the tools, advice, and connections to secure work that builds sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their families. We break down career barriers. GOALs belief in a world where barriers to well-being are removed and where everyone has equal rights and opportunities really resonated with me.
Gerard Doyle, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Recruiters.ie.
GOAL is an international humanitarian response agency established in Ireland over 40 years ago. Every single day, more than 3,000 GOAL staff ("GOALies") work to improve the lives of those affected by conflict, natural disasters and more.
Last year, GOALies across the globe reached more than five million people in 14 countries across Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. In 2022, they have worked closely with those families fleeing the war in Ukraine by launching an emergency appeal for Ukraine that provides:
Since 2020, we have supported GOAL, and the GOALies, in a number of ways:
HR and People Advisory
In 2020, our MD Gerard Doyle, was asked to join GOALs HR and People Advisory board. In doing so, Gerard has directly helped GOAL effectively harness their people agenda as part of an integrated business strategy.
This ultimately translates into helping GOAL by sourcing and attracting the right people, managing and motivating them through good times and bad, and retaining talent while also controlling costs.
It forms a significant competitive advantage for GOALs people operations at head office and on the ground where it's needed most.
In 2020, Gerard travelled to Uganda to provide training to their country management team with HR, Interviewing and Recruitment Processes.
Recruitment Services
We do not charge GOAL for any of the recruitment services we provide to them. We've filled three vacancies at GOAL, two of which were key senior hires.
We charge no fee, nor do any of our recruitment consultants receive any commission for sourcing, interviewing, and shortlisting the talent pools for each of the vacancies.
Employer Branding
Our in-house employer branding experts went onsite to GOAL to help their Marketing and Talent Acquisition teams identify and formulate an employer branding strategy for free.
This included:
In doing so, we helped GOAL break down some of the barriers to attracting talent during what is effectively a war for talent in Ireland.
Fundraising & Events
In addition to promoting GOALS many excellent events across all of our channels and networks, Recruiters.ie also actively take part and raise funds for these events.
Most recently, Gerard Doyle, Rob Fagan and Eoin Fallon raised funds and took part of GOALs CEO Cycle Challenge.

Donations
Finally, it's worth mentioning that 90% of all company and staff charity donations go towards GOALs wide range of humanitarian and development programmes with a focus on systems, partnerships and building resilience.
Most recently, the team donated their entire monthly social society fund at Recruiters.ie to GOALs Ukraine emergency appeal. This donation was also matched by the company!
Big or small, there are many ways your organisation can get involved with GOAL. From Charity of Year partnerships to events and payroll giving, their dedicated fundraising team will give you all the support you need.
Companies of all sizes, from global multinationals to local family-owned businesses, have a huge impact on the lives of communities experiencing poverty and crisis through their support. These partnerships help to drive innovation, sector collaboration and new ways of working for GOAL.
In Ireland, thousands of companies are engaging their staff and reaching their corporate social responsibility goals by participating in GOAL events and staff volunteering days.

Putting it very simply, by doing all of the above, it brings a sense of pride and purpose to our team which feeds into our culture and values.
More recently, we have noticed that our own applicants interviewing to join Recruiters.ie are showing a lot of interest in our involvement with GOAL.
One of our values at Recruiters.ie is "Honesty". One thing we know for certain: we could be doing more to help fight poverty. But we are committed to helping in small ways that we've been told make a big difference by the GOAL team.
As we said, we've really benefitted from our partnership with GOAL. This wasn't our intention but it proves that when you smile at the world, the world smiles back at you.
We hope that sharing our social impact activities inspires other companies to help in ways big or small.
We know the path to fighting poverty and climate change isn't easy. We also realise that taking climate action isn't easy because it involves resources, change and lots of open questions. We can't refuse to act just because we don't have all the resources and answers though.
The not knowing, and doing it anyway, is what leadership is.
